Frequently Asked Questions

What is Camp Smartypants? Is it a real camp for kids?

Camp Smartypants is home to the art and handmade goods of Rachel Beyer (a.k.a. me!). By visiting you will find my art/illustrations, greeting cards, handmade accessories, and more.

The name Camp Smartypants is inspired by my childhood memories of summer camp adventures. As a former Girl Scout who attended summer camp every year, Camp Smartypants, for me, captures that magic of adventure, friendship and childhood innocence.

Camp Smartypants has yet to become a real camp for kids, but I hope to one day host summer art & craft workshops and activities for all ages.

What is your art background? What medium do you use?

I've been making art and crafts my whole life. My mom and grandma taught me how to sew, crochet, and make other crafts as soon as I could hold a pair of scissors. I studied art and graphic design in college and received a BFA in graphic design from The Art Institute of Seattle. I use a combination of watercolors, acrylic, ink, Photoshop and Illustrator to create my illustrations and greeting cards for Camp Smartypants.
